For the Week of October 25th
For our God, Father Son and Holy Spirit: let God be exalted above the heavens, his glory over all the earth! May Jesus Christ, sent from heaven to save us, be our refuge from sin and chaos. May the Holy Spirit fill us with God’s own love and faithfulness.
For ourselves and our church community:
May we all truly love God first and best, with all our heart, soul, mind and strength.
May we all honor the leaders God has appointed, as David honored Saul.
May each of us bless and be blessed in close friendship, as were Jonathan and David.
CLC family: May those we invite and welcome see how we love one another. May they join us in faith following Jesus Christ, and find places to connect, grow and serve.
Our ministries to young people: send leaders and workers to serve joyfully. May those who serve in the Walk, M2, Regatta, Kids Hope and First Priority flourish as they shine the light of Christ into young lives at CLC and in local schools.
May those in special times of need: grief, pain, illness, sorrow, or stress find comfort and hope in God. May they also make their needs known to the church so that we may stand with them and be channels of grace in their times of special need.
May those with new bunk beds delivered Saturday have hearts open to the love of God made tangible by the loving hands that built and fitted and installed the beds!
Join Kids Hope in praying for three men and three women to hear and respond to God's call to develop a friendship with a Kindergarten or second grade student who is looking forward to his/her new mentor to start with them. Also, pray for opportunities for our ministry to grow and make an impact at Robinson.
Please pray for Cam (Katie) Van Koevering as they mourn the passing of their grandfather, Roger DeVries from Grand Rapids, who passed away last week unexpectedly. https://obits.mlive.com/us/obituaries/grandrapids/name/rodger-devries-obituary?id=62806005 (10/24)
Please pray for Kylene (Ross) Smith as they mourn the passing of their grandfather Theron Stone, who passed away at age 95. He was preceded in death by Kylene's grandmother in April, and Kylene's dad passed away just over a month ago. It's a tough season of loss for Kylene and her family. https://www.klaassenfuneralhome.com/obituary/Theron-Stone (10/24)
I've had multiple people over the last week-plus ask for guidance and prayer for conversations where they are sharing their faith with friends. Thanks be to God for these open doors and the faithful courage for these CLCers sharing about Jesus! And we ask that the Spirit might bring new people into a saving knowledge of his grace.~ Chris Walker (10/24)
For our city, state and country
Hope and healing for those who grieve and mourn life’s pain and suffering.
Harvest season: may it be rich and bountiful to provide food for all to share and enjoy.
Candidates for government office and those who vote for them: may we and they all make wise decisions. May our leaders serve to help us all thrive together. May there be peace, liberty and justice for all.
Those who serve us for our health, safety, life necessities, peace and justice.
Those who are sick, in trouble, or lonely, and those who serve them.
For us and all who reach out to people who are far from God with the good news of Jesus.
For our troubled world:
May the good news of Jesus Christ spread to give light to those in darkness.
May those who start wars, oppress others, persecute Christians and do other evil deeds stop doing their evil deeds.
May the needy, oppressed and suffering be set free, fed and comforted.
May those displaced and seeking refuge find safe places for now, and restoration soon.
May our ministry partners in Michigan, the United States and elsewhere find joy in their work and fruit in their labors of love.
